Sunday-A day of rest

Hello friends! Sunday was a great day of rest before we jump into construction work and teaching in the day care center tomorrow.

We started the day with going to a local church. I (Kristin) had the privilege of teaching Sunday School. I taught out of Luke 7:36-50, sharing my testimony and the life of my dear friend Katie. After Sunday School we headed to worship. We loved our time there and the Word that was preached (in Spanish-Jonathan translated it for us later) in Joshua 1.

After church we headed to a restaurant and all had very typical Costa Rican meals. If I could bottle up the guacamole and bring it home, I would!

After lunch we headed to a local market and did some shopping. I know the team picked up some amazing things for their family and friends back home!

After a stop at a local bakery for a pastry and a coke, we headed back to our home for some rest and playing of games. Dinner was had at our home before heading over to Jonathan and Amy's home. We so enjoyed our time with them. We worshipped and spent time listening to a teaching on martyrdom. Let me ask you tonight, "What do you burn for?" We are thankful to Jonathan and Amy and loved spending time with them in their home. We loved sitting in the Lord's presence and hearing Him speak to us.

Buenas noches friends. Enjoy His sweet Spirit as you sleep tonight. We look forward to all that the Lord has for us tomorrow and coming back to share it with you!

*Our final team members did arrive safely last night and we are thankful to all be together. Thank you for praying!

A beautiful first day

It has been an incredible day! The team has done an awesome job! I'm so proud of them!!

Here we are bright and early ready for our first Costa Rican meal!

Then it was off to the Abraham Project and spending some time with Jonathan and Amy. We were deeply encouraged by how the Lord is moving, doing great things, and by His miraculous provision.

These steps were actually built by a 2009 RiverStone team. Dennis, this picture is for you! 😄

Up next was working with the children in the children's home. We played field games together including three legged race, the shoe bat relay, and the four way pull was a hit!

Worship was fun then it was off to the girls having a princess day and learning how beautiful they are and that God sees no flaw in them. The boys did a great job of teaching about the armor of God.

A pizza party was had, goody bags dispersed...kids headed in for a nap and we returned to our home. We decided to explore our neighborhood together....

And have some quality time playing signs....

Dinner at our home-then back on the bus to head to youth group! We brought some classic RiverStone youth group games--four corners and finger jousting.

Then Jordan brought the Word.

Back home for a team meeting and another few rounds of signs...now we're all settling into bed. We're eagerly anticipating the arrival of our last two team members as there flight was delayed by about 2.5 hours. Pray for them please!

Please pray we rest well tonight. We love all of you and are thankful for your prayers!!

We're here!!

We're here and doing well! Travel was smooth and the team is doing great!

Tomorrow we spend our morning at the children's home. The boys have a special day planned to teach the armor of God. The girls have an awesome princess day planned. We've already met as a team and we are now in our groups practicing for tomorrow.

We have two more team mates traveling here tomorrow. Please pray for their safe travel.

We'll head to bed soon since it is after midnight back home. We've already fallen in love with our home away from home!

To close, here's just a few pictures of the beautiful sunset we watched tonight!!

**We just realized our post from earlier with pictures in the airport posted to the wrong blog. We'll fix it tomorrow, but for now you can see it over at: http://RiverStoneYouth.blogspot.com
